The second zone
This force zone includes all the average openings, whatever their types of distribution.

The hands of second area are the hands of ove r ture of 1NT.
regular hands : from 3 to 5 p.m., or from 4 to 6 p.m.
irregular hands : from 17 to 19 HL (D ).
Why this difference of points between regular or irregular hands?
Quite simply because with a regular hand I move towards 3NT (25 HL) and with an irregular hand I tend towards 4 ♠or 4 ♥ (27 HLD.)

The first zone
Now that you have put in this pla Zone 2, everything is easy. Everything that is weaker is in the first opening zone.
regular hands : from 12 to 2 p.m., or from 1 to 3 p.m.
irregular hands : from 13 to 16 HL (D).

The third zone
And so the third zone is simply whatever is louder than the opening of 1NT .
regular hands : from 6 to 9 p.m., or from 7 to 10 p.m.
irregular hands : from 20 to 23 HL (D).
